People to People Ambassador Programs, the leader in global educational travel experiences, has launched the "I Am…" scholarship contest, offering students nationwide the opportunity to experience other cultures and increase global awareness. For a chance to win one of three full tuition scholarships toward a People to People Student Ambassador trip, students have until the end of November to enter the essay contest.
"This contest is just one of the many ways that People to People will fulfill its $1 million travel promise to bring the benefit of international programs to as many of our students as possible," said Peg Thomas, president of People to People Ambassador Programs. "Whether a global trekker, adventurer, explorer, world scholar or global citizen, the "I Am…" scholarship contest seeks to expand students' world view and celebrate individual uniqueness."
The contest will award one full- tuition scholarship, worth up to $7,000, to a student in each of the following grade levels: Grade School (grades 5-6), Middle School (grades 7-8) and High School (grades 9-12). To enter the "I Am…" scholarship contest students must compose a 250-300 word essay beginning with the phrase "I Am…" and articulating why international travel is important to them.
